After the exciting love chase between Jasmine and Julian, the two finally end up walking down the aisle in the grand finale of My Girl. At last, Lolo Greg was convinced of Jasmine’s sincerity towards Julian and the depth of his grandson’s love towards her. With his blessing comes the beginning of a new life for the country’s much-loved couple on Primetime Bida.
Although this was not a part of the Korean version, the wedding scene was supposedly an extra treat for all the viewers who made the series a top-rating show. Kimerald fans will surely love this uber kilig make-believe union between the show’s lead stars, Kim Chiu and Gerald and Anderson.
On their last taping day at the Fernwood Gardens, the two were instructed not to see each other prior the wedding ceremony as if theirs was a real marriage. “Masaya and at the same time excited. Kasi ginagawa nila talaga na parang totoong kasal kasi hindi ko pwede makita si Kim. Siguro para mafeel namin yung Filipino tradition kapag may ikinakasal. And gusto ko rin maramdaman kung anong feeling ng isang groom,” Gerald revealed in an interview with ABS-CBN.com that same day.
The dashing young actor also confided that he was on the phone with Kim the night before, teasing her that they were getting married for real. “Binibiro ko nga siya eh. Kagabi sabi ko sa kanya magpapakasal na kami. Sabi niya, ‘Hindi naman totoo eh.’ Sabi ko, ‘Hindi, totoo ‘yan totoo ‘yan, magpapakasal na talaga tayo. Tapos tawa lang siya ng tawa. Alam mo naman si Kim,” he recounted.
True enough, Kim merely laughed when asked about her and Gerald’s isolated dressing rooms in lieu of their so-called wedding. Nevertheless, she felt equally excited since this was the first time she and Gerald had a complete wedding shoot, “Kinikilig ako syempre para kay Jasmine lalo nung nag-propose si Julian sa kanya. Nakakatuwa kasi unexpected yung nangyari. Na finally namanhikan na siya kasama si Lolo Greg sa pamilya ni Jasmine,” she added.
In real life, the bubbly actress revealed that she hopes to find someone like Gerald to be her husband-to-be. Then she further described her dream wedding with whoever she ends up with, “Ako kasi gusto ko yung colorful, tapos masaya. Tapos syempre simple lang yung daloy ng kasal, parang normal lang talaga. Importante magakakatuluyan talaga kayo nung [dream guy] mo. Gusto ko church wedding siyempre, para sa harap ni God kayo mangangako.”
In the meantime, Kim simply reveled in her last day as the Pinay My Girl, “Nakakalungkot kasi matatapos na yung My Girl. Lahat ng eksena mula sa simula hanggang matapos, sobrang memorable kasi for me. Ang galing nung transition na masaya tapos naging malungkot, sobrang lungkot, tapos ngayon naman sobrang saya ulit. Parang nangyayari siya sa totoong buhay ‘di ba?”
Gerald also felt the same. “Nakakalungkot pero I’m very proud of the outcome of our show. Ang dami naming cast members. At least yung tatlo (Robi Domingo, Nicole Uysiuseng, and Josef Elizalde) nakasalang sila kahit papa’no after PBB. I got to work with veteran actors like Tito Ron (Ronaldo Valdez), Ms. Bing (Loyzaga)... Comment deleted at the request of the author.  | i watched the kapamilya show last saturday. hindi napuno ang convention center ng kcc. kakalog-kalog talaga. mabuti na lang magagaling ang tatlong hosts (joey c., hannibal and cheenee) - they were able to enliven the first part lalo na nang nagrampahan ang anim na bading. hagalpakan kami talaga. but when they called ruben (ruben who?) and he started singing, umuwi na ako. i mean “hello” di nya talent ang pagkanta.
sa ganang akin, mas mabuting di na lang nagpadala ng kapalit ang abs cbn. pinanindigan na lang sana nila ang desisyon nila na wag nang ituloy kapamilya dahil sa kaguluhan sa mindanao. MALAKING INSULTO kay RUBEN ang ginawa nila — parang sinabi na “HOY RUBEN DI KA NAMAN SIKAT SO OKAY LANG KUNG MAY MANGYARI SAYO — WAG LANG KINA GERALD AT KIM!”
excuse me lang pero nainsulto ako sa pagpapadala nila kay ruben. i have nothing against ruben — pero naman… di naman tayo ganun kabobo para di natin maintindihan na ABS CBN considers GENSAN as LAST PRIORITY. eh bakit natuloy sina gerald and kim sa davao? asan ba ang davao? nasa luzon? ano si RUBEN? PAMPALUGAG-LOOB?

marami akong kaibigan sa local abs cbn. mga matitinong tao. masigasig. tapat. it’s a pity damay tuloy sila sa ngitngit ng taga-gensan.
