My Girl

When his character Julian has changed into the more laid-back type in My Girl, Gerald Anderson finally breathed a sigh of relief. "At least hindi na ganun kahirap yung ginagawa ko. Kasi nung una, napakaseryoso niya, sobrang uptight pa. So kailangan nakatayo lang lagi ng derecho. Now more of Gerald na [yung] character," said the good-looking actor during a chat with ABS-CBN.com. Seeing Julian’s continuous pursuit of Jasmine also reminded him of his own courting style in terms of perseverance and making a girl feel really special. ko siyang sinusundo sa school niya pero lakad lang at saka jeep," he fondly recalled. And even without a flashy car to impress the girl back then, he at least made sure to pay for their jeepney fare and to do little things that proved his sincerity. "Kahit umuulan andun ako sa labas. Gusto ko kasi ipakita sa babae na matyaga ako, na andito ako lagi para sa kanya."

Though he still remained elusive when it comes to matters of the heart at present, Gerald’s sweet and caring nature stayed the same especially towards his My Girl co-star Kim Chiu. He could easily be her knight in shining armor as thousands of fans have witnessed when he whisked Kim away from an over-zealous crowd during their recent mall show in Ilo-Ilo. "Sobrang dami ng tao tapos apat o limang guard lang ang nagbabantay sa amin so parang hindi ko na sila sinusundan kasi wala na talaga eh. Ayun, binuhat ko si Kim. Dinala ko siya sa likod pagkatapos nung show," he happily recounted.

With kilig moments like that, is it possible that they have developed deeper feelings for each other this time around? "Paulit-ulit ko namang sinasabi na mas naging close kami. Pero dito sa My Girl, iba talaga yung bonding namin dito." Gerald further admitted that he will always remember their Baguio trip for the show. "First time namin mag-taping out of town except for Tagaytay. Pero this one mas malayo talaga. Yung scenes namin kung saan kami nag-shoot sobrang ganda."
